This bronze was commissioned by Balonne Shire, Queensland to commemorate local legend, Tom Dancey.
Tom was the winner of the 1910 Stawell Gift and the second Aboriginal to win this prestigious race, which is Australia’s oldest and most famous race.
The sculpture was unveiled Easter, 2011 in Tom’s hometown of Dirranbandi, Queensland, marking the 100 year anniversary.
