Dandry Gorge Project

“Sculpture in the Scrub”   Life size

Commissioned by DECC (Department of Environment and Climate Change), the project involves the placement of works by four sculptors at Dandry Gorge Aboriginal site in the Piliga Forest of NSW.  The sculptures will interpret the many layers of significance of the Gorge to the Aboriginal people and will be the focus of an interpretive walk through the Gorge.

Brett’s sculpture “First Lesson” depicts a father giving his son his first lesson in hunting.  Seated  high on his father’s shoulders, the young boy looks on while his father points out significant hunting spots from atop the Gorge’s escarpment.

Due to be installed late May, 2009
